Albi Rosenthal deceased

The Beethoven-Haus mourns for the death of the longtime board member Albi Rosenthal. He was one of the most prestigious music autograph dealers, antique dealers for books and music connoisseurs of the second half of the 20th century. Among other things he managed that numerous important autographs and prints were detected and given to the Beethoven-Haus collection.

For many years Albi Rosenthal as a board member was also an important counsellor for the Beethoven-Haus. On the occasion of his old-age resignation as board member in the year 2000 he donated a Beethoven sketch leaf to the Missa solemnis to the Beethoven-Haus as a sign of relatedness.

On the third of August 2004 Albi Rosenthal died nearly 90 years of age in his house near Oxford, England. The Beethoven-Haus Society remembers him in gratitude.
