The eye-catchers in the exhibition room dealing with Beethoven's Vienna years are undoubtedly the composer's instruments, namely two fortepianos and the string quartet. Beethoven's ear trumpets, his conversation books and notes give evidence of his increasing deafness. Beethoven's portrait by Joseph Karl Stieler (1820) and his bronze bust by Franz Klein (1812) are regarded as the best examples of Beethoven portrayals. |
