Summary
Nikolaus Zmeskall had chosen personnel for Beethoven who would see to it that his household was well-run. This would enable Beethoven to take in his nephew Karl. However, the project had come to nothing, causing Beethoven to partly blame his friend Zmeskall. The latter had rejected these accusations and accused Beethoven of being ungrateful.
This letter is Beethoven's reply. He affirms his deep and eternal friendship.
