Summary
Franz and Antonie Brentano, with whom Beethoven had been friends since 1810, kept giving him loans to help him out of financial difficulties. One of these times it presented the composer with difficulties: it was delivered with a week's delay and was then not cashed in by the wholesaler Pacher. Beethoven now asks in a letter how he should continue as he has very little experience in such matters.
