Summary
In August 1808 the Leipzig publisher Christoph Härtel went to Vienna. On 14.9.1808 he closed a deal with Beethoven there concerning opp. 67, 68, 69 and 70. This letter was written shortly after the contract had been closed. Beethoven regrets not having met the publisher the day before and hopes to see him before his departure. He encloses the engraver's model for one of the two symphonies (op. 67 or op. 68), and says he will send the second engraver's model in a few hours, as the copyist is still making final corrections.
