Summary
In his text for the confirmation of ownership for opp. 67-70, the publisher Härtel left a gap so that the key of both symphonies could be inserted, and in all four cases left a gap for the opus number.
Beethoven did not, however, insert the opus numbers; he merely added the keys of the compositions.
Härtel had been staying in Vienna since the end of August 1808 and on 14 September he closed a contract with Beethoven for the works mentioned. He took the copies of the symphonies back to Leipzig with him when he left Vienna.
