Summary
Beethoven thanks Moscheles for his sympathy and tells him briefly about the progress of his illness. He repeats the desire he has already expressed in a previous letter that his London friends should obtain the financial support of the London Philharmonic Society for him. (Due to the fact that he had not been able to work for several months and the expense of his treatment, Beethoven was in a very difficult financial position; the Philharmonic Society had suggested a benefit concert for him years ago and Beethoven now returns to their offer.)
In a short postscript he adds that Johann Nepomuk Hummel has visited him.
