Summary
Beethoven informs his friend Bernard, who is familiar with the conflict concerning the guardianship of the composer's nephew Karl, that the child's mother has started a new attempt to reclaim the guardianship and to stop Beethoven from getting it. For his part, Beethoven only now wants to occasion a decision in his favour as soon as possible so as not to burden the child any further.
