Summary
Beethoven informs Joseph Blöchlinger that he must forbid any contact between his nephew Karl and the mother Johanna van Beethoven. The composer had sent Karl to Blöchlinger's school and wanted to prevent the mother and son from meeting at all costs. The dispute between Ludwig and Johanna regarding Karl's guardianship had not been finally resolved and Beethoven was afraid that Johanna might exert a bad influence over the child.
