Summary
Beethoven asks his nephew to visit him so that they can discuss what has happened in peace and without accusations. He promises that he will not bear a grudge. He asks his nephew to stop causing him concern and to listen to him. Karl did not heed him: on 6 August 1825 he attempted suicide.
