Summary
Beethoven writes to his nephew Karl probably shortly after his hernia operation on 18 September 1816. He asks Karl to write to him and tell him his mental and physical needs. In addition he tells him that the orthopaedist ("breakfixer") will bring by a new truss so that he can take the old one away to be washed.
