Summary
Beethoven writes to his friend and legal advisor Johann Kanka in Prague, saying that he is happy to hear the news from Retz (Kanka had been appointed curator for Johann Lamatsch in the transactions concerning Johann Paul Lamatsch's estate. Beethoven's nephew Karl also received a share). Furthermore he asks Kanka to collect the annuity owed to him from Kinsky's finance office and to send it on to him. The receipt showing he is still alive is enclosed. In addition Beethoven complains of inflammatory catarrh which has already afflicted him for half a year - he is still suffering from its after-effects and it is preventing him from working.
