Allegoric depictions

The majority of artists who dealt with Ludwig van Beethoven just portrayed the composer and expressed their reverence by idealising his looks. Some artists went beyond that stage and created allegoric depictions showing the composer in a timeless, often heroic context accompanied by a profound symbolic meaning.
