Summary
Poetic statements of friendship by composer Franz Anton Rösler (1750-1792) and singer Johann Ignaz Ludwig Fischer (1745-1825) for an unknown recipient: "Art combined with integrity and good behaviour / is gentle. Gentleness / is pleasant. Pleasance means happiness." (Rosetti=Rösler).

The letter contains a poem about harmony and loyalty among friends: "The sweet goddess /:harmony:/ / of sounds and souls, / I thought it should never / lack us sons of muses, / but mouth and heart are displeased / and lips sing sweet as honey / where the envier's fire glows, / believe me! there are few / friends of / true loyalty, honesty; / friends! remember one thing / test my heart and integrity, / and you will see me right / shall I be called your friend / be this my reward / my friendship is yours already" (Fischer).
