Summary
Beethoven authorizes Johann Nepomuk Kanka in Prague to accept payment of 600 florins from Kinsky's finance office. Kanka was a lawyer in Prague and following the death of Prince Ferdinand Kinsky he became curator of the latter's second son Joseph Count Kinsky. In addition Kanka was a music lover, pianist and composer. Kanka acted on Beethoven's behalf in his dispute with Kinsky's heirs concerning payment of his annuity after the Prince had died. The composer won was therefore indebted to Kanka. Beethoven also called in Kanka as his legal advisor in the case regarding the guardianship of his nephew Karl.
