Summary
In 1838 Gottfried Fischer, supported by his fairly older sister Cäcilia, began to write down the memories his family had of the city of Bonn in the 18th century and of the Beethoven time. Fischer's interest arose because the subject of Beethoven became more and more important when the Beethoven monument was erected. Based on a draft Fischer wrote a clean copy in the 1850s. In some parts the clean copy differs strongly from the original version. The Digital Archive displays the clean copy (see images 1 - 70) (BH 173, 1) as well as the draft (see images 71-96) (BH 173, 2).
