Summary
Beethoven thanks Grillparzer for his opera libretto Melusine. He hopes to be able to meet him soon to discuss the libretto. Grillparzer had written it specially for Beethoven, but for a long time had not apparently dared to give it to the composer. It is known that Beethoven did not set the text to music. It was C. Kreutzer who first set it to music in Berlin in 1833.
