Summary
Beethoven complains to his publisher Schlesinger in Paris that the edition of the Piano Sonata op. 110 still contains mistakes. He informs him that he will send a list of corrections. In addition Beethoven asks for a copy of the Piano Sonata op. 111 in advance so that he can undertake any last corrections before it is published. The sonata is to be dedicated to Archduke Rudolph.
Beethoven complains that there had been too many problems with the publication of the last two sonatas op. 109 and 110, including payment ("I have to accept some unpleasant things from your father and yourself"). The composer also told third parties of his unhappiness with the Schlesingers, whom he accused of miserliness in connection with their being Jewish (this was a common prejudice of the times). In a postscript Beethoven asks for six author's copies of the sonata for impoverished artists.
